Today I installed the targa top vinyl. Prior to this shot, I removed all of the trim chrome around the roll bar and all of the interior trim and back pad. |
After removing everything, I completely cleaned the previous glue then taped the areas that aren't going to get the new glue. |
Next, I sprayed the glue on the targa bar, then on the back sides of each vinyl. I waited about 3 minutes for the glue to set up, without drying out. Then, with some help, I installed the top piece, then the side pieces. You'll need to work quickly before the glue dries within 10 minutes. |

It's important to press the vinyl into all of the corners. Next, I trimmed the pieces to fit underneath the chrome strips. |
Finally, I installed all of the chrome trim pieces. |
I still have to install the interior pieces, but I'm waiting for the new back pad that I just purchased. |

These are the before and after photos of the changes to the interior. Here's the before looking from the passenger side. |
This is the after shot. I've installed recovered seats, new carpet and the driver's arm rest. |
This is the before shot of the driver's door. This car had no arm rest. |
|
The after shot of the driver's door. I was able to find an arm rest. After cleaning up the mildew, it really looks good. |
Here's the before shot from the driver's side. |
Here's the after shot. I also installed a new center arm rest that hinges in the back. Also note the fire extinguisher in front of the passenger's seat for immediate use. |
|
Here's the before shot of the badly cracked passenger side back pad where the seat belt rubbed. |
This shows the after shot of the newly recovered seats, new back pad and new center arm rest. |
Another before shot of the back pad, seats and the after-market (cheap) center tray without cushion. |
|
The after shot. |
This is the after shot of the passenger's arm rest. Evidently I didn't take a before shot because there was nothing to show. |
