Here's a shot of the motor, just before I left Joe's house. He still had to hook up the throttle linkages, install the fuel pump and battery, and provide a fuel source. Joe called me the next day, as I was waiting for the flight home and he let me listened to the motor as it was running. He still needs to do some more tweeking, but I should be able to pick up in January.

Since I had already completed prepping the floorboards, I covered them with paper to minimize the clean up.

This is the before shot. You'll notice that there are several areas that were welded from the engine compartment.

Besides removing the glue and paint, I also removed the seam-sealer between the bottom and top pieces.

Here's the after shot, from the driver's side. I have already added paper where the window was, because I'm going to finish prepping the engine compartment.

This is the passenger's side. The gray areas are where there was minor rust or a weld. I used AllMetal as filler.

I almost finished prepping the engine compartment, but ran out of time. In July I removed the paint and glue from the firewall, so today I began the removal of the paint from the rest of the engine compartment. I was able to remove the paint from the area underneath the engine shelf. This is a shot looking down into the compartment.

This is a shot from underneath the car. The red strip is the c-clamp that will hold the engine sealing rubber, I won't be removing this paint as it won't show.

Here is a shot of the back of the compartment, looking up.

Here's a close up of the corner of the firewall and the side. There was a lot of seam-sealer in this area.

This is the passenger's side showing the corner of the side and the rear sections filler. All of the paint was removed with Aircraft stripper, then the hard to get areas where removed with paint thinner. Finally, the bare metal areas were covered with Ospho, the wiped down with a clean cloth.
