Today I had a couple of my friends, Mike McGee and his brother-in-law Scott, help me install the motor into the car. We used a floor jack and a lot of muscle to get the motor in place. Thanks to Mike and Scott. My intention is to wire up the motor so that I can remotely start it, just to turn it over once a week. During the next several months I'm going to install all of the new parts, cables, bushings, etc, and finally the suspension pieces. |
Here's another shot of the motor. |
Here's a shot underneath. I haven't tightened all of the mounting bolts until I have the axles installed. By mounting the motor in the car, it will better support the engine while I start it and keep the parts lubricated. |

Here's another shot from underneath. It is a great feeling installing parts back on the car. |
Here's a shot of the interior with the main wiring harness installed, along with the speedometer cable. I still have a lot of work left in here. |
This how I know how the parts need to be installed. I have this web site on my laptop, so I just pull up the pics, read the text, and presto, the parts are in the correct position. BTW, I also am using the blue car, project #1, for any examples that weren't clearly photograhed and/or documented. I have also bagged all of the small parts, bolts, washers and nuts in small baggies, labeled with the location and the date they were removed. This date is cross-reference to this site. |

I installed the seat rails, parking brake handle and the interior wiring. |
Also installed the gear shifter and the center tray. The wires on the floor on the driver's side are for the interior light, mounted in the back pad. |
This shows the wires that will be connected to the brake pedal. |
