Here's a close up of the original cap. You'll notice the silicone that was used to hold the plastic cap in place.

The first thing I remove, after the plastic cap was the steering wheel. This also shows the original instrument cluster. You'll notice the faded black instrument cluster surround.

Next, I removed the lower dash pad.

Next I removed the dash cap. Please refer to Project #1, dated 12/03/2004, remove dash top, for the steps to remove the dash cap. Note that you'll need to remove at lease one of the A-pillar cap. Also, remove the ash tray.

Next I removed the instrument cluster.

After carefully diagramming the wire connections, I removed the older instrument cluster. Then I installed the new dash top and the new instrument cluster.

I replaced the painted bumpers with chrome ones and installed fibre-glass bumper cap replicas.
