Well, I don't like the way the color paint job I did, so I decided to sand everything down again and reprimered it. I'm planning to take it to a professional auto body shop and have them put the color on. I sanded the red down and used a very small amount of a skim coat to fill in any minor imperfections. |
I taped up the front trunk area to minimize the dust getting into all of the small cracks and crevices. |
A shot from the driver's side. |

A shot of the rear trunk. |
I spent several days on each of the front and rear trunk lids getting them level. |
This shows how I taped the car off. |
|
Passenger side taped. |
Rear trunk taped. I spent a lot of time getting the panel between the tail lights smooth. |
Finally, primer on the driver side. |
|
Primer on the passenger side. |
Primer on the rear section. |
After letting the paint dry for 2 days, I removed the paper and taping. |
|
Front section. I'm going to leave the headlight covers off for the paint shop to paint separately. |
Passenger side. I'm not going to do anything else to the car, just drive it to the paint shop. I'm going to have them finish aligning all of the doors and hoods. |
