This show the passenger's jack plate before removal. It's difficult to see, but the PO had already replaced the jack post, but left some of the original. I'll remove the current piece and see what's behind. |
Finished removing the jack plate. This also shows the leftovers of the original jack plate. |
What's behind the jack plate is not encouraging. There is plenty of rust in the longitudinals. It looks like I'll be replacing the longs also. |
|
This is a close up. The gray stuff is concrete. More work to do. |
Next is the driver's side. Here you can see the original jack post. |
Removed the replacement jack post. |
|
This shows the inner longitudinal. That elbow is the metal heater hose that attaches to the heater in the engine compartment. After I remove the long, you'll see that the elbow then connects to a flexible hose, then connects to another metal hose that is connected to the heater. |
This shows the inside view of the longitudinal. Look at all of the rust. Yea, more work. |
Began welding the driver's rear inner fender tip, donated by project 914-01. This shows the filler used. |
|
This shows the tail light panel. I decided to use the old one, instead of the off of project 914-01. It was rusted out badly, where the trunk floor meets the panel. I'll cut out certain areas from 01 and weld into this one. |
This shows the driver's rear fender fitted only for indexing the welding of the inner rear fender tip. During the previous pics, the longitudinals appear to be rusted, which they will need to be replaced. The fender won't be attached until the longs are replaced. |
This shows the trunk laid on top. There will be more fitting and welding before either the outer fender or the trunk lid is attached. |
